When I write on this blog I'm just sharing what God is doing in my life or what He is showing me I need to work on. It's for me but it is my prayer that it can help others, encourage others, bless others.
It is the first week of a full time business, and filling the role of Weld Chaplain to anyone that needs one (welder or not). The week was a definite change. Going from an hourly worker where everything hinges on if you are on the clock or not in order to be profiting. As a business owner my paycheck hinges on whether or not my phone rings and if I get job orders to fulfill. No one ever said (and proved) that change would be easy. It's definitely an adjustment. Let me give you a run down of some of the blessings that have come my way this week in accordance with change. I was waking up at 3am in order to get to the starting line (time clock) each day at work. This week I got to get up at 4 a.m. and read my bible, pray and listen to praise and worship. Quality time with God. Getting spiritually fed and having time to encourage myself in the Lord, encourage others on social media, and encourage my wife before she was off to work. Next was having breakfast with her. We worked at the same place and would share lunches each day. We were able to trade those in for breakfast. I am able to be available for ministry. I can get back to my writing ministry, be more prepared, rested, and ready for prison ministry, and even try to talk Ron Brigmon into getting this podcast off and running. As far as business goes, I'm truly blessed. Jesus said in Matthew, don't worry about what you will eat what you will wear for your Father in heaven knows you have need for these. But seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added. (Forgive me that I am not giving you the entire reference and not copying verbatim) As I was going through the week God opened doors. I was busy early then I didn't have any jobs one day because of the rain and then the next. Fear tried to creep in with the thought that maybe this isn't the thing I should be doing. But I said to that thought God did not give us the spirit of fear but of Power, Love , and a sound mind. I asked God to show me how to handle the days when I don't have any scheduled work. Then I read in a book about not having to toil in work anymore. So I prayed, God, this is your business, you set it up this way and at this time so it would prosper and so that we could help grow the kingdom of God. I trust you to fulfill that, In Jesus Name Amen.
I continued to do my marketing, reach out to people and company's that I had spoken with before. Then suddenly out of the blue someone not on my call list called me about a job. That's what I'm talking about God! (learned that from the granddaughter). Then I got a call from a contractor about bidding on an upcoming job. Then it was off to fulfill the out of the blue job. So it's Saturday evening now. The air conditioner went out and parts won't be in until Monday. So we went to get a window unit (gotta have something!) on the way in we got the mail. I was researching something online when I remembered the mail after getting home, and installing a/c. I opened an envelope to find a check from one of my first corporate jobs. My eyes watered as the song started playing in my mind, "when I think about the Lord, how He saved me how He raised me, How He filled me with the holy ghost how He healed me to the uttermost. When I think about the Lord how He picked me up and turned me around how He placed my feet on solid ground. Makes me want to shout! Hallelujah thank you Jesus Lord you're worthy of all the glory and all the honor and all the praise..."
How faithful is He. He said He would take care of the things that I can't control. Trust in Him, for He is faithful! I don't know where you stand today. I don't know if your a/c is broke and you're sweating like me because i'm not in the room with the window unit, but you have something to be thankful for. If you cannot think of something right away try. Then ask Him to move on your behalf in an area. I'm so blessed to be where I'm at. I'm thankful for God's mercy, grace, love, provision, favor. I'm thankful for the people He places in my life and giving me the opportunity and privilege to serve them. If I've been blessed to serve you, thank you. Know that we aren't building your ordinary business here. No, we are making Kingdom of God moves. Impacting the community by giving and serving them. And that definitely Makes me want to shout!
